Who we are

This website, theburdenbook.com, is operated by The Marketing Guy ApS, H.C. Andersens Boulevard 33, 4th floor, 1459 Copenhagen K, Denmark, on behalf of the author Nicolaj Højer Nielsen. Contact: jk@themarketingguy.dk.

What we collect

Pre-orders: handled by Shopify. That means your name, address, email and payment via Shopify Payments, PayPal or Shop Pay. We never see card numbers.

Newsletter: your email, stored in our database and used only for launch and book updates. Unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email.

Booking and delivery requests: sent by email, so whatever you choose to write to us.

Cookies and tracking

With your consent we use the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics 4 to measure visits and pre-orders. They set cookies and send pseudonymous data to Meta and Google, who may process it outside the EU under their standard contractual clauses. If you choose 'Only necessary', no tracking cookies are set. You can change your choice any time via 'Cookie settings' in the footer. Shopify sets strictly necessary cookies for the checkout.

Legal basis

Contract for orders. Consent for tracking cookies and the newsletter. Legitimate interest for answering your emails.

Retention

Order data is kept as long as Danish bookkeeping law requires (5 years). Newsletter data until you unsubscribe. Emails up to 2 years.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correction, deletion, objection and data portability, and the right to complain to Datatilsynet (www.datatilsynet.dk). To use any of them, email jk@themarketingguy.dk.
